Review submitted from Joeys Mom on December 7 2017: For years I wanted a pit bull mix. I imagine the dog I selected would be that pit bull “blue” with the same gray eyes. I imagined taking my dog on daily walks, since owners that don’t devote time for daily exercise angered me. Almost daily I searched online for that perfect dog, visited the local shelters in search of that unique dog. Then one day I widen my search and came across my Joey. German Shorthair Pointer Pit mix, beautiful unique markings, brown and black spots, shades of brown brindle mask and in good light hints of blue on the tips of his ears. We arranged to meet him, he was more beautiful in person, he seemed very submissive. What we where not picking up was the hint of fear in this dog. We took the leap an adopted Joey. I grew up with dogs but this was all new for my husband. I got him home and the tell tell signs of fear was there. It took me several hours to just get him in the house, taking a walk with him was physically and mentally exhausting, he require encouragement and reassurance every step of the way. If we were approached by someone he was lashing out to attack, if someone was behind us he was pulling us along to get away from them. To be honest I wanted to take him back but my husband told me “no”. We/I had no clue how we would move forward. Then I heard about board and train. To be honest we used a different board and train company. Joey learned the basic of what he needed but we still struggled. Then we learned of Anny Godwin’s Norcal Adventure K9. Joey has been attending Anny’s program since May 2017. Under Anny’s guidance Joey has blossomed and we as dog owners have also blossomed. Neither of us are perfect but we are now a happy unit ( myself, my husband and Joey). Walks with him are now a pleasure, he just sniffs along ignoring dogs, and on the occasion he is bothered by their presence he will shake it off and continues on our journey. What did Anny give us that our board and train did not, she is a great dog trainer but she also has the unique ability to train dog owners. It is one thing to train the dog but the ability to train owners to do and be what the dog needs is a different story all together. Joey absolutely loves Anny. He is a goof ball with a stubborn side, but Anny puts him in check and guess what he is happy to fall in line and do what is expected of him. For us Anny has become the person and the service we can not live without. She has helped us tremendously.
Review submitted by Lou's Mom December 7th 2017 We are so thankful to have Anny and her expertise in our lives. She is patient and kind. When others were reluctant to take a chance on our rescue, she did! She has given us the tools to work with our Lou. Whenever I need advice about Lou, she has always been available to help guide us through tricky situations. I appreciate the knowledge and training she has shared with us. She’s the best!
Review submitted by Sammy's Mom December 8th 2017 We feel truly blessed to have met Anny. As many of you may know, it's very hard to find someone that you feel completely comfortable leaving your beloved pet with. Not only is she an amazing trainer, but so loving and caring as well. She is beautiful on the outside and inside, and truly cares and loves our Sammy. I'm sure we all feel that our pet is #1 with Anny because she makes each of us feel that way. That's what makes her even that more special. Sammy loves Adventure Days with Anny and gets so excited just by the mention of her name. How's that for feeling completely content where you leave your pet! Adventure Day is like Doggy daycare with reinforced training by an amazing person! Adventure Days are awesome - Sammy gets to socialize, go on field trips, reinforce his training, learn more, and have fun! Steve and I couldn't be more happier where Sammy spends his time away from us. We appreciate all Anny does and love her dearly!
Review submitted by Harleys Mom on December 28th 2017 Anny has done wonders with our very reactive Mastiff. She was a completely different dog after 2 weeks and as we continue to work with her, Anny is always available to offer advice or discipline :-) I recommend her to anyone I hear of looking for a trainer. We will continue to keep our dog in Adventure club and take advantage of Anny's expertise and experience. She is so patient and truly loves what she does!!
Review submitted by Fenway and Elwood's Mom on December 29th 2017 Over the last 12 years, going out of town meant wrangling a family member to come to our house to watch our pups as boarding them was totally out of the question. Even with family, I always worried about them. Then Anny, the dog whisperer, came into our lives. So knowledgeable and confident and calm, my pups couldn't be in better hands. Offering training, boarding and adventure days, we take advantage of all her services. Once you're in her program, you're family and she is always available for advice on issues we may be having with the dogs. Her Adventure Program is the best! Weekly outings with other dogs offer socialization, command reinforcement, and great adventures. Anny has also given us the training tools and confidence to work with our pups to have a calmer, more disciplined pack, a necessity when they're each over a 100lbs. We are so happy we found Anny and look forward to a long relationship with her and her program.
Review submitted by Rufus's Mom on December 20th 2017 We have had the pleasure of working with Anny since Rufus was 8 weeks old in puppy class. She has worked with our family to insure consistency and positive behaviors, even coming to our house for one-on-one training. After graduation from puppy class, Rufus continued his education with Adventure classes weekly. He absolutely loves his Tuesday’s where he builds on his strong foundation, and gets the opportunity to socialize in a safe setting. He gets a lot of “GOOD BOY”s because of Anny’s consistent training of Rufus and his humans. We take Rufus everywhere they allow dogs and he performs wonderfully. He often dines with us when we go out and keeps his “down” even when other dogs are only a few tables over. We would not have been able to accomplish this on our own. If you want your dog to be with you more, then check out Anny’s training programs. You’ll get to have more fun with your furry friend beyond walks around the block.
